Shanghai Liaoyuan Bilingual School has received notification from the International Baccalaureate that LYBS is now an authorized IB World School to offer the IB Primary Years Programme. 
 

Shanghai Liaoyuan Bilingual school was visited at the end of May by 2 experienced IB site visitors. Their job was to make sure that Liaoyuan school met the standards and practices to become an IB World School. The visit included, classroom observations, interviews with the leadership team, students, parents and the board and also the school’s documentation and supporting evidence.
 

LYBS is one of the few schools in Shanghai that has successfully integrated the Chinese National Curriculum and the IB PYP Framework while also being delivered using a bilingual model. 
 

The school received a number of commendations from the IB including that the school community has a high level of understanding of the IB PYP Programme and the effective communication between different parties including parents and the teachers. LYBS will continue to work on improving all aspects of the PYP Programme as also highlighted in the visit. 
 

LYBS is committed to continuing it IB journey and investing in different programmes. School have currently recruited several key staff to help continue our IB journey. School is currently a candidate school with the MYP and will also launch the PYP in the Early Years next year.
